A Dozen Rose Cupcakes

A Dozen Rose Cupcakes
Even if you don’t make the sugar roses for these cupcakes, they are absolutely delicious and a chocolate lover’s dream come true. The centers are filled with rich chocolate ganache and the vanilla bean frosting swirl on top is a nice counter to all the chocolate. The recipe makes two dozen cupcakes, so you can keep one dozen and gift another (if you’re feeling generous).
Learning a new skill is exciting, and if you take the plunge into sugar flower-making, then be patient with yourself. The first flower may take a little longer to make than the rest, but that’s just a part of the learning process.

Cannoli Cupcakes

These cannoli cupcakes are the perfect finish to an Italian dinner, or similarly themed party. The trick to make them cannoli-like lies in the ricotta cheese and marsala wine mixed into the otherwise traditional (flour, vanilla, milk, sugar, orange zest, eggs, salt and baking powder) cupcake batter. The cannoli filling is made from more ricotta cheese, chocolate chips, sugar and orange zest, and then the whole thing is topped off with a homemade vanilla bean buttercream frosting — and a few chopped pistachios for good measure.

Raspberry Jam Cupcakes

Make Mother’s Day – or any holiday – special, by serving these yummy raspberry swirled cupcakes. Topped with pink vanilla bean buttercream, complete with piped-on rosettes and other designs, these cupcakes will show how much you care, without actually having to say the words. The trick to making these lovely beauties is in the batter — while it starts with a standard vanilla cupcake batter, by swirling in raspberry jam before baking them, these emerge from the oven both tasty and pretty!
