Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries

Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries

Call me easily amused, but these little torch-topped cupcakes delight me.  Besides being a cute novelty item for a party, I think they would add a little drama to the end of a romantic meal.

The cakes are just sweet enough, and have a light, fluffy crumb – the perfect vehicle for rich chocolate buttercream. The strawberries are hollowed out and filled with a bit of liquor, then ignited with a match. I’ve been looking for something different to serve for Valentine’s dessert, and this is definitely different.

One Bowl Vanilla Cupcakes for Two

One Bowl Vanilla Cupcakes for Two

Let’s face it: sometimes we all need a dessert that only makes two servings. Haven’t you always wished you could make just enough dessert for yourself? Or yourself and one other person?

These are definitely your typical white cake; fluffy and soft, full of vanilla flavor, and the perfect vehicle for some fluffy white frosting. And it only takes one bowl! Not creaming, no mixer, no folding… just you, a bowl and a spoon.

Deep, Dark and Rosy Red Velvet Cupcakes

Deep, Dark and Rosy Red Velvet Cupcakes

I know that a lot of people only associate red velvet with Christmas, but for me, red velvet is definitely a February thing. And for some reason this year, I really went full force with the V-Day eats.

These cupcakes were just the start, I loved them. I haven’t said that yet, but I really did love them. The chocolate flavor is awesome and subtle light flavors of the roses balance the chocolate out. AND that cream cheese frosting. Whoa.

That’s maybe the best thing ever. Seriously, so good.

Skinny Cherry Cupcakes for Valentine’s Day

Skinny Cherry Cupcakes for Valentine's Day

I am not a big “skinny” dessert fan. If I’m going to eat dessert, I prefer it to be quite satisfying. And usually, skinny desserts leave me wanting more.

But not this time. Although, really, I’m not sure how YOU qualify a dessert as skinny. So we will call these skinny-ish, or skinnier cupcakes. If you’re looking for a skinnier dessert recipe this New Year, give these cupcakes a try!

Pink Rose Cupcakes for your Sweet Valentine

Pink Rose Cupcakes for your Sweet Valentine

Nothing says Valentines Day more than roses and chocolate! This is the kind of rose I’d like to receive on Valentines Day. How about you?

Chocolate and raspberry together are a great combination, topped off with Buttercream Frosting and tinted pink with Americolor soft pink. Either vanilla extract or raspberry would make these super delicious.

Strawberry Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

Strawberry Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

Every Saturday is a day of celebration, and this one is no different. We’ve settled on these strawberry chocolate chip cupcakes, originally created for a proposal, to sweeten up this Saturday morning, afternoon, evening or all three…in case you need a little extra today.

Bitter dark chocolate is perfectly balanced with strawberry flavor, including fresh strawberry puree in the cake, which also makes it extra moist. And it’s even better when you eat them straight out of the oven while the chocolate is still gooey! We won’t judge you.

It’s easy to underestimate the impact of small gestures, so put yourself out there, and declare all the love you have for your friends and family. Make them your Valentines, and make them these cupcakes as a sweet gesture to remember you by.

Because nothing says love like an incredibly moist chocolate cupcake topped with fluffy, soft meringue and a candy heart reading “PUGS & KITTENS”. They deserve it. And YOU deserve it.

Chocolate Chocolate Raspberry Cupcakes

Chocolate Chocolate Raspberry Cupcakes

Is there anything better than chocolate and raspberry together? I dare say there is, and it’s called Dark Chocolate Frosting. I’ve never had a go-to chocolate frosting before now, but I guarantee I’ll never be making another recipe again.

The texture of this frosting is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. It’s rich and silky, and pipes beautifully. I promise this is the only chocolate frosting recipe you’ll ever need. And with a raspberry filling, these are the only cupcakes you’ll ever want.
