Meringue Frosting Posts

Few desserts can claim to be a purely American invention, and Bananas Foster is one of them. Although the traditional dessert is made from bananas and vanilla ice cream, coated in a sauce made from rum, banana liquor, cinnamon and few other ingredients, this cupcake version only has rum in the meringue frosting. The banana cupcake base and banana chip adorning the top of the frosting are what make this tasty treat similar to its namesake.
