Leprechaun’s Gold Cupcake Tower

Source The Pastry Tip

Regardless of your heritage, you’re probably very aware of St. Patrick’s Day — the traditional Irish holiday celebrated each year on March 17.  Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a charming cupcake tower. The cake on top is made with the giant cupcake pan and a 5 inch cake pan. Both are covered in fondant and the cake is imprinted with a wood grain impression mat to resemble a tree trunk. Icing grass is piped from a 233 pastry tip.

Snowflake Cupcakes

Snowflake cupcakes can be served all winter long — not just around the holidays. Make yours out of standard ‘ol cupcake batter from your choice of flavors. Top of a luscious swirl of buttercream frosting (again, any flavor, any color, although blue is recommended.) And then add a few pearl dragees and some fondant snowflakes. If you want to top that, consider adding on a few sprinkles of shimmery edible sugar to make it look as though everything has (slightly) iced over. Tasty and beautiful!

Bubble Gum Pink Flavoured Cupcakes

Pink themed cupcakes like these can be served at many different functions, from birthday parties to informal wedding showers. It’s hard to resist the triple dose of pink that makes these stand out from the cupcake crowd: the cake liner, the sprinkles and the fondant star set atop each all shout both festive and feminine at the same time. The simple vanilla cupcakes and off-white buttercream frosting both take a backseat to all of this pink!

How to Make Fondant Rainbow Cupcake Toppers

It’s not hard to decorate a cupcake with a memorable frosted rainbow. All that you need is fondant frosting on several different colors (stick with the traditional ROY G BIV – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) if you want it to look just right, and some white fondant to make cute fluffy clouds. Follow the instructions in this photo-heavy tutorial and you’ll have the perfect cupcake toppers in no time flat!

Mini Rose Cupcakes

These mini rose cupcakes can best be described by the three D’s: Dainty, Delicate and Delicious. Made from a traditional vanilla cupcake batter and iced with a lovely pink-tinted vanilla buttercream, they are hard to resist even without the beautiful fondant toppings! However, to turn these into the perfect gift, wedding dessert, or birthday cupcake, add a pastel colored fondant leave, flower, butterfly or a series of edible pearls to the top. They’ll look so good that you won’t want to eat them!

Rise of The Guardians Cupcakes

Take simple vanilla cupcakes to a whole new level with these adorable Rise of the Guardians movie-themed treats. The batter consists of standard ingredients like butter, sugar, flour, salt and vanilla, which complement the marshmallow fluff based filling perfectly. To tie these goodies in with the movie, choose the color that “fills you” and use a drop of gel color to dye the filling that particular shade. Top with white fondant, spun sugar and fondant elf to make these fit in with the Rise of Guardians!

Snowflake Cupcakes

Sometimes the simplest decorations are the most elegant. Like these snowflake cupcakes, for instance. A simple vanilla cupcake coated with festive blue buttercream frosting is both tasty and easy to make, although the elegance lies in what goes on top of the frosting: white fondant snowflakes, cut out with a cookie cutter and left to stiffen, and a good helping of edible pearl dragees. All of this adds up to a stunning, holiday-ish cupcake that is utterly unforgettable!
