Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes

If you like chocolate covered cherries, you are going to love these Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes. A delicate spongy cupcake filled with cherry preserves and topped with cherry buttercream frosting. These are sure to be a crowd-pleaser!

Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes recipe highlights:

This recipe was inspired by my favorite candy, chocolate covered cherries.

The cupcake is full of chocolate flavor and kept moist with the help of oil and butter.

The frosting is a simple buttercream that is flavored with cherry preserves. Each cupcake gets a generous filling of cherry preserves and then topped with the cherry buttercream. There is no shortage of cherry flavor in this recipe.

Lemon Lime Cherry Cupcakes

For a taste of summertime no matter the weather (or time of year, for that matter!) check out these lemon lime cherry cupcakes. The batter contains both lemon and lime juice and zest, alongside more traditional ingredients like flour, butter, sugar, eggs and buttermilk. However, these tasty treats take on the colors of their flavors (yellow and green) thanks to the addition of gel color. The frosting is where the cherry flavors come into play. Turn a meringue buttercream into something exquisite by adding in cherry juice and some red or pink gel color. Top with a cherry and serve!

Cherry Cupcakes

Cherries and cream in a cup; what more can you as for? The base is vanilla cupcakes baked with cherries. You can definitely see the pink spots of the cherries with the beige color of the base. Add some pink coloring gel for a pinker base. The frosting is Swiss meringue butter cream; sweet, creamy and definitely complementary to the cherry cupcakes. The frosting takes longer to do but it’s perfect with its thick and smooth texture.
