Candy Corn Cake Pop Topped Cupcakes

You’ve heard of both cake pops and cupcakes, but how about a combination of the two? Yes, these traditional cupcakes are topped with a frosted cake pop to give them a unique look and an extra “pop” of flavor! The trick lies in the assembly — make a batch of cupcakes and a batch of cake pops both using the same flavored batter. Frost the cupcakes, then frost the cake pops before sticking one on top of the other; the frosting will act like glue and hold them together!

Candy Corn Cupcakes

There’s nothing better than a cheeerfully frosted cupcake – and the best thing about these confections is the fact that you can make any kind of cupcake that you want. Yes, the “candy corn” in this recipe refers to the treatment of the frosting. A combination of orange, yellow and white frosting added carefully to a single piping bag before being cautiously applied to the tops of these tasty treats gives them the appearance of a candy corn, without having to harm any actual candy corns!

Candy Corn Cupcakes

Although not everyone likes candy corn; everyone will love these candy corn cupcakes. Made from a standard yellow cupcake batter (with vanilla bean paste swapped in for vanilla extract to add extra richness) the candy corn part comes from the sweet frosting, not the candies themselves. After baking your cupcakes and allowing them to cool enough to frost, layer on a thick vanilla buttercream that’s been divided into thirds and dyed candy corn colors with food coloring. Frost them to match these traditional Halloween treats!
