Chocolate Birthday Cupcakes

There is nothing better to serve at a birthday party than a moist, delicious chocolate cupcake. This recipe uses cocoa powder, sour cream, vanilla extract and flour, along with other ingredients, to create a simple, basic chocolate cupcake. The simplicity of the cake itself is the perfect complement to the chocolate ganache icing and chocolate pudding filling. Bake, fill, frost and serve with a smile – after topping with a few sprinkles, of course!

Blue Cupcakes

Blueberry filled Vanilla cupcakes with lemon buttercream frosting are delicate, fruity, and wonderful for a light snack or a tempting dessert. The cake is a standard vanilla cupcake batter baked at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes. The filling is easy as well; frozen blueberries thickened with sugar and cornstarch over heat. The blueberry filling is injected into the vanilla cupcake which is then topped with the tangy lemon buttercream. In not time, with little effort you have a super easy extra yummy afternoon treat.

Monkey Bread Cupcakes with Banana and Chocolate

Monkey bread is sticky, gooey, covers in cinnamon and sugar and just plain tasty. These monkey bread cupcakes take that idea and spin it a bit. The dough is rolled into a ball around some banana slices and chocolate bits, before dunked in melted butter and cinnamon and sugar. Each ball then goes into a cupcake liner (although it’s more fun to squeeze two into one liner to evoke the real thing) and baked before being coated in a sugar-y, cinnamon-y glaze.

Kaleidoscope Cupcakes

Kaleidoscope cupcakes are sweet little colorful treats with an added measure of fun. To achieve this multihued masterpiece the trick is to color the cupcake batter separately. Partially fill the cupcake wrappers and then add the colored batters in whatever design you choose. To finish off the adorable edibles, instead of icing or frosting on top which would hide these cuties, the cakes are split and the frosting is stuck in the middle. Picture perfect!

Cupcake Push Pops

You’ve heard of push pops – these melty, sugar-y, orange sherbet flavored treats that tend to make a bit of a mess in the summertime when bought from your local ice cream truck. Now imagine them served in cupcake form, with layers of tasty frosting sandwiched between even more layers, this time of cupcake. When served in a narrow plastic “push-up” cup, these sweet and creative cupcakes will send you right back to your childhood!

Micky and Minnie Mouse Cupcakes

Fondant bows and mouse ears on either side of a heaping helping of buttercream frosting say “Disney” in a subtle fashion. You can make these cupcakes from any cake batter that you choose, although these are a wonderful vanilla flavor. The buttercream is also vanilla, although, like the cupcakes, you can decide to use chocolate instead, of any other flavor, for that matter. What is important is the crowning touch that makes these Disney-fied — the mouse ears!

Dead Pool Cupcakes

Is Deadpool your child’s favorite X-man? If so, then these cupcakes will be welcome addition to his or her birthday party festivities. Take the cupcake batter of your choice, then coat them with a thick layer of fondant frosting in Deadpool’s characteristic red with black accents. Add on a fondant star, a few letters (spelling out your child’s name, or even a D and a P for Deadpool) and you will be the superhero of the party for coming up with these tasty creations!

Birthday Train Cupcakes

Nothing is more fitting for a young boy’s birthday party than a series of train themed treats. These cupcakes can be made from any batter – which is perfect in this day and age of food allergies – and, once topped with a series of train outlines and train themed decorations (think: railroad crossing signals), will take the child’s train obsession to a whole new level. The best part? These cupcakes are simple to decorate and adults will find them tasty as well. Sounds like a win-win situation!
