Apple Cupcakes with Caramel Buttercream

Apple Cupcakes with Caramel Buttercream

Spiced apple cupcakes with caramel buttercream. A quintessential autumn treat in cupcake form! The cake itself isn’t too overly sweet, so the caramel buttercream enhances it perfectly.

These apple cupcakes are not only fun to bake, but also delicious to make when you’re feeling in need of an indulgent treat. Best of all this recipe includes fruit, so technically these cupcakes are kind of healthy?

Apple Spice Cupcakes

Apple Spice Cupcakes

This one’s for the apple lovers. Surprisingly, this apple spice cupcake recipe starts with a classic vanilla recipe, but that’s where the simple ends. By subbing milk and white sugar for a few seasonal flavors including apple cider, brown sugar and various warming spices, the recipe transforms these no-frills white cupcakes into idyllic apple cider treats. Top the delicious recipe off with chopped apples in homemade caramel sauce, and you’ve got a dessert fit for royalty on your hands!

Apple Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

Apple Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

What says fall more than the word “fall?” Apples, of course – and why wouldn’t you enjoy those apples in as many ways as possible? Apples are delicious, but so are apple tarts, apple pie, apple butter and, naturally…apple cupcakes. With a little cinnamon cream cheese frosting, you may decide to abandon the apple entirely and just turn them all into cupcakes. These make great “happy fall!” gifts, as well as a wonderful cupcake to make just because you want a cupcake…or two…or ten.

Caramel Apple cupcakes

Picture caramel apple pie, only in cupcake form. No, make that upside down cupcake form. Yes, you read that right. These caramel apple cupcakes start off with a yellow cake mix that is prepared according to its included instructions. Once you have that base, the fun begins. Butter, brown sugar and canned fried apples (yes, they do exist!) are placed on the bottom of each cupcake liner. The batter is poured over them. Bake, let cool, remove the liners and serve apple side up. No frosting required.

Spiced Apple Cupcakes Recipe

Spiced Apple Cupcakes with Maple Butter cream Frosting are the perfect way to celebrate the coming of autumn. Try baking a batch of these and enjoying them on your front porch or in the garden while watching the sun set amid a dazzling display or orange and red leaves. It will be a day you wont soon forget. Gala apples are the best for this recipe because of their perfect balance of sweet and sour. They are like a bite-sized apple pie that has been elevated to a whole to new level.
