The folks over at Shenzhen Knives sent me this super sleek and sexy knife to take on a test run. Ceramic Knife?!?! I never knew there was such a thing! I thought that ceramic was for flatware and vases. Besides looking super slick, this knife is strong, made from zirconium oxide (a substance somewhere in between steel and diamonds).
As you can see there is no metal to speak of so no rust will ever take hold of this glorious cutting utensil.
After dicing up some onions in preparation for dinner, I attacked these apples head on…and I won!
Like what you see? Would you like one for free? (I’m feeling very Dr Seuss today) Well, Shenzhen is going to give one lucky reader their very own sexy white 6″ Ceramic Chef’s Knife valued at $34.99!

I would love to win this knife! I really need a new one in time for Thanksgiving preparation.
I would absolutely love this. Thanks The cupcake blog and Shenzhen Knives.
I love the fact that they stay so sharp – seems like I spend hours sharpening my good knives, and sometimes just want to grab one and have a nice edge!
the hardest material next to diamonds ! i want one !
Awesome knife! I’d really like one in my kitchen!!!
Zirconium is harder than steel and almost as hard as diamonds! Fantastic!
The knives leave no chemical aftertaste or smell. Love it!
How often do you have to sharpen it? Does it come with a sharpener?
No rust! Love that! I have learned that they do not rust:)
Awesome!
Evil loves sexy knives!
I do like sharp things……..
I learned that the ceramic blades resist wear and so do not need to be maintained as often as steel blades do. A great fact for chefs who wish to grab a knife and know it’s sharp.
I never knew that a ceramic blade can hold its edge much longer than a steel blade.
Who knew you could make knives out of Zerconia, sweet! I want to try one!!
Ceramic can hold a sharp edge much longer than a steel knife.
Ceramic is second only to diamonds in hardness
I love the fact that they stay sharp, That seems to be the problem for all knives.
Made of zirconia ceramic, which is the second strongest material to diamonds. And they stay sharp! Love that!!
We have a ceramic knife and love it!
I never heard of a ceramic knife, but i’d love to try one out. Thanks for the opportunity! Blessings to you!
Didn’t know that zirconia is the next hardest material next to diamonds…
