Malteaser Cupcakes

Malteaser Cupcakes

If you ask us, the foundation of any good cupcake is a good base recipe. Add in a favorite chocolate candy, and you’re in for the perfect sweet, tiny cake. For these malteaser cupcakes, “wet” chocolate batter results in a less cakey, more moist and fudgy sort of cupcake, and these little dudes are also topped with delicious malt balls perfect for cuddling up with a movie or taking in a weekend holiday party. Grab yourself some malt powder (think Ovaltine) and the usual plethora of baking goods and get cooking!

Coca-Cola Cupcakes

Coca-Cola Cupcakes

Coca-Cola holds the hearts of many, especially during the holiday season. Who can resist those adorable polar bears? These cupcakes embrace that love of bubbly – Coke, that is – even including a generous helping in the batter, which lends a special sort of aeration and adds to their fluffiness. You can stop and admire them there, or take it a step further and top them with cherry frosting for a sweet dose of Cherry Coke. In either case, a drizzle of chocolate and a maraschino cherry bump these yummy cakes from regular treat to sundae delight!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Red Velvet Cupcakes

The secret to the color of red velvet cupcakes is actually no secret (hint: it’s a ton of red food dye), but the perfect cake (red or otherwise) requires much more than a dump of dye! In fact, it requires finesse. It requires a delicate hand. And most importantly…it requires a delicious recipe that’s been tried and tried again. A good red velvet cupcake makes you feel like you should be WALKING on red velvet, like the superstar that you are. This particular recipe is so perfect that fancy topping isn’t even necessary – a simple buttercream will do. The cupcakes do all the talking for themselves. Listen up.

It’s Friday and officially the season to eat yummy goodies all the time. There are more than enough cupcake recipes to get you through the season with a new one each day, but this glorious recipe is all about Reese’s, which is absolutely alright with me. Along with some Reese’s Pieces worked into the batter and slathered on top, the recipe includes absolutely divine double chocolate batter that will make you cry tears of chocolatey delicious joy. Plus, there’s a lovely layer of chocolate peanut butter frosting on top of this cupcake – what more could you possibly need from a seasonal sweet?

Slasher Movie Cupcakes

Slasher Movie Cupcakes

It’s hard to argue that slasher movies are great occasions for popcorn, but this little cake in a cup might give that idea a run for its money. This goolish, haunting cupcake makes a GREAT treat for Halloween and will spook up any party without creeping out your guests (hopefully). With a little detail, a fork, and some red food coloring, you can make these already-tasty cupcakes the stars of your party. Paired with a (hopefully fake) knife and some other wonderful treats, these make a great choice for just about any event this eventful candy season.

Elmo Cupcakes

Elmo Cupcakes

No doubt your clan would like any of the Sesame Street character cupcakes, but we bet that Elmo becomes their favorite. Not just because they look so darn cute, but because they taste yummy too! Good buttercream frosting makes Elmo’s fur look so realistic. A whole bunch of Elmos can be made using this chocolate batter, then tinting the buttercream frosting with a mix of red and orange coloring.

These fluffy white cupcakes have been magically turned into wonderful morsels of blue goodness with a little food dye, and with the right frosting job, the most adorable…I mean scary…shark fins appear. These would be great for celebrating Shark Week or a sea-themed party for your favorite little one.

Oscar the Grouch Cupcakes

The kids are going to love these Grouch cupcakes, and they certainly won’t be grouchy after they have tasted them. They are a continuation of the Cookie Monster cupcakes with a few changes, but are just as well received by the little ones and the adults too. They are brightly colored and made with an easy-to-follow recipe. No doubt you will want to dedicate more time to the decorating than the actual making and baking.
