Dark and Stormy Cupcakes

The Dark and Stormy Cupcake is a sweet twist on the cocktail by the same name and this made-from-scratch treat is sure to be as big a hit as its namesake at your next party. The cream cheese frosting is rich and decadent with enough rum added for a robust flavor, but not so much that you need a designated driver. Embellished with crystallized ginger, the mild but distinctive flavor perfectly complements the moist cupcake and creamy frosting.

Apple Cinnamon Cupcakes

If you love apple pie, then you’ll love these apple cinnamon cupcakes. The cupcake batter itself contains swirls of cinnamon and tiny bits of chopped apples. That alone would be enough to satify any apple lover, but these cupcakes take it to the extreme thanks to the addition of a sugar-y apple filling that is similar to – you guessed it! – apple pie filling. The frosting is an apple and cinnamon flavored buttercream, making these the perfect treats for fall!

Candy Corn Cupcakes

Although not everyone likes candy corn; everyone will love these candy corn cupcakes. Made from a standard yellow cupcake batter (with vanilla bean paste swapped in for vanilla extract to add extra richness) the candy corn part comes from the sweet frosting, not the candies themselves. After baking your cupcakes and allowing them to cool enough to frost, layer on a thick vanilla buttercream that’s been divided into thirds and dyed candy corn colors with food coloring. Frost them to match these traditional Halloween treats!

Halloween Pumpkin Cupcakes

Halloween is known for many things, from kids running around in costumes to spooky stories about ghosts and vampires. However, the number one thing that springs to mind when a person thinks of Halloween is sweet treats, like candy and cupcakes. These pumpkin cupcakes, in particular, are especially sweet, thanks to the fondant icing and orange sugar crystals. This particular batch doesn’t contain any actual pumpkin — they just look like them, although you can add a little to your batter if you want!
