Cupcake Lovers Weekend at the Hilton Bonnet Creek at Walt Disney World

A visit to Orlando will be a bit sweeter July 8-10, as Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek at the Walt Disney World Resort celebrates its first-ever Cupcake Lovers Weekend, a special celebration of frosted fun.
The special weekend, part of the resort’s season-long SummerBlast! promotion will feature a schedule of activities and events themed around cupcakes.
“Cupcakes have hit the stratosphere of pop-culture,” said Tracy Walker, general manager of Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. “And with all of the passion surrounding these tasty treats, we thought they deserved a special spot on our calendar!”
Guests visiting the hotel during Cupcake Lovers Weekend, will have an opportunity to sample and purchase various cupcakes, and participate in cupcake-themed events, including:
* Cupcake Decorating Tips – An opportunity to learn decorating techniques that you can incorporate into your next batch of cupcakes!
* MUSE Cupcake Bar – Curb your cupcake craving with a stop at MUSE, our lobby coffee and sweet shop.
* Cuppycake Kids Zone – A chance for children to decorate their own cupcake, as well as other cupcake crafts.
* Cupcake Walk – Our recreation team has created cupcake themed activities around the pool, including a special version of a cakewalk… the Bonnet Creek Cupcake Walk!
* Cupcake Displays – Enjoy a display of cupcakes decorated by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek pastry chefs.
* Cupcake Voting – Guests can enjoy a display of cupcakes created by Hilton team members… and vote on their favorite designs!
* Cupcake Martinis – The Hilton lounges will feature special “cupcake” themed martinis… you’ve got to try these!
* Savory Cupcakes – Harvest Bistro will be serving several “savory” entrée cupcakes – the latest trend in cupcakes!
* Summer Activities – In addition, guests can enjoy their favorite SummerBlast activities and events, including a DUCKTONA 500, a zany rubber duck race in our lazy river; Dive-in Movies; and our SummerBlast! Saturday pool party, where one guest will win an iPod loaded with the latest hits.

TLC’s Cake Boss: Next Great Baker with Pamela Ahn

Pamela Ahn will be one of 10 contestants appearing in CAKE BOSS: NEXT GREAT BAKER premiering December 6th at 9/8c on TLC.
In the series, TLC favorite Buddy “Cake Boss” Valastro, along with various family members, put 10 talented pastry chefs through the ringer to earn the title of “Next Great Baker.” At stake – $50,000 cash and a chance to work side-by-side with Buddy at Carlo’s Bakery. Each week, Buddy pushes the contestants’ baking and decorating skills to the limit through a series of increasingly difficult challenges that test their business sense and cake artistry. Someone will be sent packing each week until the NEXT GREAT BAKER is the last one standing.

Cupcake Combat in Columbus Ohio
The Cupcake Combat will be held at the downtown Brewery District Kroger on November 7, 2010 from 4pm 7pm. Proceeds of the event will go to the Stefanie Spielman Fund For Breast Cancer Research at the Ohio State Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital.
Fifteen professional chefs and bakers will compete for bragging rights for the best cupcake in town. A grand prize of $500.00 dollars will be given for “Best In Show”. The contest will be judged by patrons of the event on originality, presentation and taste. Cupcake Camp Inland Empire
Cupcake Camp Inland Empire is a gathering of cupcake-lovers to raise money for a good cause. How can you not love these cute miniature cakes with bright dollops of frosting on top? Bake or buy cupcakes to bring or just come to eat and help support the charity. Activities include cupcake tasting, raffles, baker competition, kids’ area, fundraiser and more. The spirit of Cupcake Camp is SHARING: share cupcakes, share our joy of cupcakes, and share our fortune with those less fortunate than us.
It is 100% volunteer-organized and operated by cupcake fans. There’s nothing in it for us besides the pure joy of being able to share and eat cupcakes with you. The concept for Cupcake Camp originated in San Francisco and promotes a true spirit of community and sharing, and Cupcake Camps now happen around the world and come in a wide variety of flavors and sizes.
